I've used VLC for years. It continues to improve and opens vids other players won't. It's excellent!

Pros
  • One interface to learn for most anything, including Flash Vids. Upgrades install with no problems. Interface is very good, easy to learn and actually works.
Cons
  • Occasionally crashes when starting the first time per session, but only once and then runs well.
