worked great with Leopard, but not with snow leopard

I hate to say it but the VLC player is no longer my player of choice now that i've updated to snow leopard. The VLC player stops for no reason. You can't drag the video ahead or backward anymore. I've tried deleting the current copy of VLC i had and downloading a new one, but the problems are still there.
